The gardens occupy 3,000m² within Ocean Breeze Reserve and feature nearly a 100 mainly exotic fruit trees (eg. Jackfruit, Sapote, Peanut Butter Fruit, African Peach, Sapodilla) making it unlike any other project undertaken in the Ballina Shire.
The community and visitors are encouraged to wander through and enjoy the gardens. Herbs at the entrance are available for everyone to share.
Members communally maintain the orchards and vegetable plots and benefit from the organic fruit and vegetables they harvest .
Excess produce when available is put in the Community Sharing Hut for the community and visitors to share.
If you would like to join us as a member please follow the Join or Donate link above or come along to one of our working bees to learn more about the Gardens.
Working bees are held on Thursdays and Sundays between 8:30am and 11:00am.
