Community, health, education & environment through gardening
Lennox Community Gardens was founded in 2015 by a group of local volunteers interested in promoting the principles of:
Community spirit
Good health
Sharing of knowledge
Environmental sustainability
The Gardens occupy 3,000m2 within Ocean Breeze Reserve and feature nearly a 100 mainly exotic fruit trees (eg Sapote, Peanut Butter Fruit, African Peach, Sapodilla) making it unlike any other project undertaken in the Ballina Shire.
The community and visitors are encouraged to wander through and enjoy the Gardens. Herbs at the entrance are available to everyone to share.
Members communally maintain the orchards and vegetable plots and benefit from the organic fruit and vegetables they harvest.
If you would like to join us as a member please follow the Join or Donate link above or come along to one of our working bees to learn more about the Gardens.
Working bees are held on Thursdays and Sundays between 8.30 and 11.00am.
