Curry Tree
Murraya koenigii
Rutaceae Family
The leaves of the Curry Tree have a distinct aromatic flavour and are a staple in Indian cooking. Leaves can be harvested at any time of year but will have the deepest flavour in Summer.
Curry berries are a secondary crop and are generally consumed fresh, however the seeds must be discarded; they contain toxic elements and are inedible.
Fresh leaves can be sauteed in oil before adding other ingredients.
