Vine maintenance
- Pruning - cut back the vine by about a third in late winter or early spring.
- Fertilise in spring and autumn with citrus food or a chicken manure, well watered in, and spread over the entire root system; avoid over-feeding or using fertilisers that are high in nitrogen, as this will encourage leaf growth at the expense of flowers and fruit.
- Prefers a rich soil, so mulch regularly with organic material.
